Why are the wrong photos grouped together?

Fix upload batches where Product Studio groups images from different items into the same product.

This issue happens before publish, inside the initial grouping flow in Product Studio.

Work through these checks

  • Is the source batch clean and item-by-item? Mixed capture order is the most common cause. Keep each product photo set together in one uninterrupted sequence before upload.

  • Are you relying on Automatic with messy metadata or mixed devices? If the batch came from different phones, edited files, or mixed EXIF data, switch that upload to AI grouping or use a fixed split count.

  • Is the batch too large or too mixed for one pass? Break large or look-alike-heavy uploads into smaller batches so grouping errors are easier to catch early.

  • Is Skip Organizer hiding the problem until later? Turn off Skip Organizer so you can review groups before they move into Product Buffer.

Success check

  • Each group contains photos from one item only.

  • The number of groups roughly matches the number of products you expected before you continue.
